Odienné, Cote D’Ivoire—UPF-Côte D’Ivoire launched on May 21 its annual convocation of Ambassadors for Peace and installation of its Peace Council. This important assembly aims to mobilize many leading actors for the promotion and consolidation of peace as well as for intercommunity dialogue.
Among the distinguished guests, the presence of the following was especially notable: the prefect of the region, the prefect of the Department of Odienné, the secretaries general of the Prefecture of Odienné, the deputy ombudsman of the Republic of Kabadougou Region, and a representative of the Regional Council of Odienné. The mayor of the municipality of Odienné was represented by the first deputy mayor. The prefect of police of Odienné, the director of the region’s water and forestry department, and regional directors of public and private establishments of Odienné were also in attendance. His Majesty the king of Kabadougou was represented, as well as were the chief of the Canton of Odienné. Traditional chiefs, religious leaders, and presidents of NGOs and other associations of the Kabadougou region also participated.
All participants congratulated and praised the work of UPF-Côte D’Ivoire for its initiative undertaken for the benefit of the entire Ivorian population.
