Ambassador for Peace to Walk from Russia to India

Tver, Russia—An Ambassador for Peace has started walking from the Russian city Tver to India under the banner of the Peace Road.
Yevgeny Kutuzov from St. Petersburg began walking toward India on July 6, 2019. He chose his path following the steps of a famous Russian traveler, Afanasy Nikitin (? -1475), a merchant who also started out from Tver and traveled to Persia and then on to India in 1468-1474. Nikitin’s traveling notes, published as Journey beyond Three Seas, became a valuable literary and historical document.
A local newspaper (a branch of the national newspaper Moskovskiy Komsomolets) interviewed Yevgeny before the start of his journey.
