Seoul, Korea—On May 20, 2020, UPF-Korea held an event in support of an initiative aimed at building a global community of peace, harmony and cooperation, guided by universal spiritual values and principles. The interfaith initiative aspires to create a worldwide "Holy Community" under God, the Heavenly Parent. The program, entitled, "Heavenly Parent’s Holy Community," was broadcast live online. A total of 810 participants from diverse backgrounds, and including leaders of UPF-Korea and presidents of Ambassador for Peace Councils across the country, took part in the program, of which 700 did so virtually, following the government’s COVID-19 prevention guidelines of social distancing.
The event began with greetings among leaders across the nation who could not meet for a while due to COVID-19. UPF-Korea chair, Mrs. Yeon Ah Moon, gave a message in which she affirmed the role of UPF in taking the lead in building a peaceful human community while attending God. The secretary general of the chapter, Mr. Hyun Young Lee, emphasized, in his special report, forming a foundation for a unified Korea and world of peace. The initiative was welcomed with unanimous support from the participants.
