Nepal-2020-12-28-Nepal Appoints New Ambassadors for Peace

Kathmandu, Nepal—UPF-Nepal held an Ambassador for Peace award ceremony on December 28, 2020 at the Peace Embassy building in Kathmandu with 12 people in attendance. Hon. Ek Nath Dhakal, chairman of UPF-Asia Pacific, presented the awards to three writers: Mr. Bhisma Prasad Upreti, Mr. Ram Krishna Manandhar and Mr. Santosh Kumar Pokharel.

During the program, Hon. Dhakal explained that the mission of UPF is to promote interdependence, mutual prosperity and universal values. Mr. Santosh Kumar Poudel, president of UPF-South Asia, congratulated the newly-appointed Ambassadors for Peace.

Celebrated writer Mr. Bhisma Prasad Upreti remarked, “It is such a prestigious award, and I hope I will be more responsible to help society for universal peace.” Media personality and writer Mr. Ram Krishna Manandhar similarly said, “Media is so important to transport the message, so my role will be to spread the message of peace.” Former reader and engineer Mr. Santosh Kumar Pokharel expressed, “I am determined to be a messenger of peace through literature."

Mr. Binod Dangi, secretary general of UPF-Nepal, concluded the program by giving an inspiring vote of thanks.
