Argentina—UPF Argentina appointed six new Ambassadors for Peace during the monthly meeting of Ambassadors for Peace held on August 11, 2021. The event took place on Zoom and was broadcasted on our YouTube channel, with more than 90 views (1).
Before the appointments, we showed an introductory video on UPF’s leadership areas and “Think Tank 2022,” which focuses on the reunification of Korea (2).
On this fourth such event, the appointed Ambassadors were David Barbieri, chief of section of the Transplant Institute and chief of the Intensive Care Unit in Álvarez Hospital’s Room 4; Fabio Bartucci, president of the Research and Eye Treatment Center (CITO) Foundation; Pablo Cabrejas, founder of the Alejandro Olmos Cultural Center; Amanda Martín de Rauzi, president of the Rotary Club in Lanús; Jorge Sereni, president and founder of the Civil Association Cultural Center Antonio Devoto; and Jorge Stein, minister of the Church of Scientology in Argentina. They expressed their gratitude after receiving the certificates which were given following the showing of a brief audiovisual summary on their work and good practices (3).
The new Ambassadors for Peace were welcomed by Humberto Benedetto, Mercosur Parliamentarian and representative of IAPP-Argentina. Carlos Varga, director of UPF-Argentina and president of FFWPU-Argentina, briefly explained the fourth UPF Principle of Peace, “Living for the Sake of Others,” which expresses the highest standard of life in the community: “The common good.”
The artistic numbers were coordinated by Guillermo Dri, who sang “Entrerriano soy, por Concordia voy.” “Hermana tierra” was performed by Aylin Rodríguez. After the entertainment, we invited everyone to upcoming activities. We ended with a toast to good fortune and a few words given by Emanuel Sayavedra, secretary general of UPF-Argentina and president of YSP-Argentina.
