Germany-2017-04-22-Germans Discuss Near-Death Experiences

Düsseldorf, Germany—Near-death experiences were the subject of a presentation given by a theologian and philosopher at a meeting held by UPF.

Jörgen Bruhn, who is also a teacher of religion, has focused on this topic for decades and has written a book about it titled Glimpses Beyond the Horizon.

He personally has interviewed many people who had a near-death experience. Most of them described being led through a tunnel in the direction of a shining light. Some described hovering over their body. Yet others described meeting people who were already deceased—either relatives or religious figures.

Many of the people he interviewed felt that they had received new life through this experience. As a result, they no longer feared death.
Near-death experiences transcend religion and culture and have many similarities, Mr. Bruhn said. However, they often are interpreted according to personal religious or cultural background.

Through his lectures, which he presents in many public forums, Mr. Bruhn wishes to encourage his listeners and free them from the fear of death. However, he stated that suicide is not an option, because in that situation it is not possible to achieve a state of love. He stressed that endless love awaits us at the end of our earthly life.

About 40 people attended the April 22, 2017 event, listening to the speaker with great interest. The presentation was followed by many questions and a lively discussion.
