Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia—On March 24, 2018, UPF-Malaysia signed a memorandum of understanding with Edufly College, located in Kuala Lumpur, at the Peace Embassy in Malaysia. At the signing ceremony, Edufly College donated RM (Malaysia Ringit) 12 million (US $2,967,000) in scholarships to the chapter’s Education Social Welfare Project, which seeks to raise youth with the necessary knowledge and skills, and character, ethics and morality to lead in the future. The full scholarships will benefit 300 underprivileged students.
The managing director of Edufly College, Mr. Yap Keong Foon, who is also an Ambassador for Peace, was inspired by the efforts of UPF co-founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, at the inauguration of the Youth and Students for Peace, and later attended a UPF Asian Leadership Conference in Thailand. He has expressed a desire to contribute to youth education through UPF initiatives, such as UPF-Malaysia’s Education Social Welfare Project.
