St. Petersburg, Russia - A scientific and practical conference on the topic of “Moral and ethical character education in the 21st century: Efforts towards a new stage of development” took place in St. Petersburg on November 7.
The initiators of the conference were the St. Petersburg public organization “Teachers’ Initiative Center” and the North-West chapter of UPF. The event was attended by representatives of state and public organizations in the St. Petersburg and Leningrad regions as well as Liudmila Konstantinovna Zhigalova, Secretary General of the International Educational Foundation of Russia.
Participants were presented reports on peacemaking philosophy, UN renewal, and the role of family and moral values in peacemaking. Tatyana Nikolayevna Krasnosumova, director of program development, spoke about the "Tenth Jubilee,” sharing information about their ten years of experience organizing conferences of the kind. During her speech, those who participated in previous conferences were asked to come to the stage. They received souvenirs and diplomas.
A group of dancers from Children’s Home 23 performed rousing dances. The conference ended with the role-playing game “Man of the World,” helping participants understand more deeply the standard one should aspire to as an Ambassador for Peace.
