Bangladesh Character Education Initiative

Dhaka, Bangladesh - In collaboration with the Department of World Religions and Culture of Dhaka University, UPF-Bangladesh organized a Character Education Initiative entitled "Journey of Self Discovery" February 6-22, welcoming three character education trainers from the NextGen Leadership Academy in the US.
The training focused on teaching virtues such as respect, compassion, and perseverance all under the motto of “Living for the sake of others” using the Discovering the Real Me textbook series that was developed by the UPF. The way of training was based on practical and experiential learning. The trainees participated in a “Train the Trainer” workshop that aimed to help them understand their role as character educators and to help them implement character education into their communities.
About 30 students attended, mainly from the Department of World Religions and Culture of Dhaka University. After training, some of students and trainers visited schools to practice what they learned.
