Sydney, Australia - The UPF-Australia character education team presented one of the Celebrating Life lessons* “Drugs, Alcohol and Cigarettes” at a youth group meeting in Mt. Druitt, west of Sydney on June 17. Around 20 Samoans, mostly high school students, were present.
Naomi Von Dinklage facilitated this interactive lesson focused on how to overcome peer pressure in order to have a healthy and fulfilled life. Other team members led discussion groups. Everyone got involved and enjoyed the lesson.
Other lessons will be presented in September in the hope that this program can help young people to make right choices when they meet challenging situations.
*Celebrating Life is a substance abuse prevention and character and values education program.
