Bergamo, Italy—UPF-Italy inaugurated its “all-Italian” Think Tank with a talk on “Communication of Conflict and Conflict in Communication.”
This think tank seeks to bring together in monthly meetings important contacts in various disciplines to discuss the topic of conflict.
The first meeting, held online on June 24, 2022, had an audience of about 15. In addition to the UPF-Italy president, the participants included professors and journalists, among others. At this time the events are not open to the public but are restricted to invited contacts, with the number to be increased gradually.
The speaker was an Ambassador for Peace, Professor Marino D'Amore, a sociologist of communication, a criminologist and university lecturer, with a PhD in geopolitics and geo-economics research and another PhD in criminology. Author of many publications and essays, he is also a freelance journalist.
As an expert in geopolitics and communication, Professor D’Amore spoke about the war in Ukraine and how the main players manipulate the various media to control the propaganda they want to send to their people and to the world.
His talk lasted about 20 minutes, at which point the participants initiated a debate.
