Zürich, Switzerland—A group of UPF supporters held a Peace Road event by bicycling through northern Switzerland.
About 15 participants took part in the event on August 27, 2022, starting from the town of Niederglatt in Zürich Canton. They rode north along the Glatt River to the town of Rheinsfelden, where they made the first stop.
At Rheinsfelden, also in Zürich Canton, the Glatt River flows into the Rhine River, which is the border between Switzerland and Germany. There is a power plant in Rheinsfelden which was built in 1920. This power plant, Eglisau-Glattfelden, is the most beautiful in Switzerland and produces an average of 310 gigawatt hours electricity in a year.
The group kept cycling west along the Rhine River to the small town of Kaiserstuhl in Canton Aargau, where they had a break with snacks and drinks and were applauded and encouraged by friends and family members.
Afterward they continued west to their final destination, the town of Bad Zurzach in Canton Aargau. At a picnic place by the Rhine River, beside a big swimming pool, the group grilled different kinds of food.
Participants listened to talks explaining about the Peace Road about the UPF founders.
Everyone liked the bicycle road which goes along the rivers, through the countryside and forests. The group bicycled a total of 36 kilometers (nearly 23 miles) on a nice, sunny day.
