Prague, Czechia—“Principles of Peace” was the title of a program held by UPF.
The speaker was Dr. Juraj Lajda, the president of UPF-Czechia, who has been studying online in the Peace Studies program at HJ International Graduate School for Peace and Public Leadership, formerly known as the Unification Theological Seminary.
The emcee for the event on June 29, 2023, was Dr. Lajda’s wife, Erika. This was the third public lecture that UPF-Czechia held in the Peace Embassy in June 2023.
In his lecture Dr. Lajda addressed such questions as:
- What is positive and negative peace?
- What is violence and how does one overcome it?
- How does one overcome conflict?
He introduced methodology for negotiating between conflicting parties and establishing peace as a positive phenomenon. Finally, he explained the basic prerequisites for peace, according to the UPF founders’ teachings.
An audience of 12 people participated in the event at the Prague Peace Embassy, with an additional four viewers participating online. This was the first time that UPF-Czechia livestreamed a lecture.
