UPF-Lebanon Meets with the Minister of Culture

Beirut, Lebanon—The leaders of UPF-Lebanon had the opportunity to meet with Minister of Culture Dr. Wissam El Mortada.
UPF-Lebanon President Thomas Schellen and his wife, Secretary General Hermine Schellen, had a cordial meeting on September 14, 2023, with Dr. El Mortada in his office at the Ministry of Culture. They introduced UPF and all of its activities in Lebanon.
This meeting was decisive, as the minister’s approval was necessary for International Association of Youth and Students for Peace (IAYSP), an organization that is affiliated with UPF, to inaugurate a chapter in Lebanon.
The inauguration was scheduled for September 28 at the UNESCO Palace, which is under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. The minister indicated that he would support the IAYSP application to use the venue.
