Tokyo, Japan - On March 28, the March forum for Ambassadors for Peace was held in a hall in Setagaya, Tokyo with the participation of nearly 30 Ambassadors for Peace residing in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
The invited speaker was Dr. Katsuya Tsukakoshi, an instructor specializing in psychology at the Humanitarian Department of the Komazawa Women’s University. The theme of the lecture was “World Peace and the Attitude of the Heart: Examining the Mechanism of Anxiety and Anger.”
Explaining that two of the characteristics of people who have become psychologically unstable are that 1) they cannot give an objective judgment, and 2) they cannot behave rationally, Dr. Tsukakoshi pointed out that increased anxiety transforms into anger, and that various problems arise from anger. “The best way to root out your anxiety and anger is by building peace within your family,” he said. “Then you can develop your sense of self-reliance, which will allow you to live by your own values.”
Participants’ vigorous questioning after the lecture revealed their high level of concern about this theme.
Finally, Mr. Takayuki Matsunami, Director of the UPF-Japan Education Section, handed Ambassador for Peace certificates to two newly nominated Ambassadors for Peace.
