Nepal MP Briefs Ambassadors for Peace in Canada

The Hon. Ek Nath Dhakal, a visiting MP from Nepal and who also serves as the Secretary-General of UPF Nepal, was recently invited to a UPF luncheon in Mississauga, Ontario. The Hon. Dhakal gave a presentation of recent UPF events in Nepal, including a recent ascent of Mt. Everest by a UPF Ambassador for Peace (read the about the climb here)

After lunch the Hon. Dhakal, accompanied by Brampton Ambassadors for Peace Nassir Hussein and Mukhtar Kokher and UPF Canada representatives Dr. Chae Hee Lee, Katsumi Kambashi, Mitch Dixon, Stoyan Tadin, Paul Tamale, and R. Thillairajan, met with Brampton MP, Hon. Gurbax Malhi, who is also an Ambassador for Peace.

Hon. Dhakal explained to Hon. Malhi that Nepal would be establishing an Embassy in Canada in September and that he hoped to create an ongoing dialogue between Canadian and Nepal MPs. Hon. Malhi was also briefed about UPF’s work to support the peace process in Sri Lanka.
