Harare, Zimbabwe - Since UPF resumed activities in Zimbabwe, we established an Ambassadors for Peace Committee, which is chaired by Senator Damian Diamonds Enias Mumvuri. Recently we organized a UPF Mini Conference on the theme of “The Mission and Responsibility of Ambassadors for Peace.” It took place December 11 at the Peace Embassy in Harare.
The conference went well, with encouraging responses from everyone we invited. The 35 participants included judges, doctors, businesspeople, religious leaders, teachers, and pastors. People who attended for the first time were touched and inspired by the UPF vision for world peace as living for the sake of others and its motto of One Family under God.
Justice Yusofu Omerjee, one of the highest judges in the country, was the Guest of Honour and gave the keynote address. UPF-Zimbabwe Chair Senator Mumvuri gave welcoming remarks.
The following day one pastor who attended the conference invited the UPF-Zimbabwe Secretary General to talk about UPF's vision for peace on national television.
