Lusaka, Zambia - Sixty-five people attended an Ambassadors for Peace Seminar on March 24 at the Peace Embassy. In his opening speech, the chairman of UPF-Zambia focused on the mission and the role of UPF and invited participants to listen deeply and discuss issues freely.
Two short papers were presented, followed by a PowerPoint presentation. The first short paper was given by a representative from the Anti-corruption Commission, Mr. Chiko Halwindi. As a Community Education Officer, his major role is to raise community awareness that corruption is a vice that affects people, societies, and nations in many different ways. He emphasized the need for individuals and organizations to work together in the fight against the scourge.
The second short paper was presented by Dr. Sketchley Sacika, a consultant and senior Ambassador for Peace. He is a member of Peace Council of UPF on Principles of Peace Building and Good Governance. He emphasized that peace should first emanate from an individual level and then spread to the community. He also stated that “The Declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation requires that leaders at every level uphold high moral standards."
The third PowerPoint presentation was given Mr. Rudolf Faerber, Secretary General of UPF-Zambia. The presentation covered topics such as the Original Ideal of Peace, Principles of Understanding Human Conflicts, and Principles of Restoration. All the participants were very touched by the lectures.
