Sydney, Australia - UPF-Sydney hosted an Australian Leadership Conference on May 7 at the Oceania Peace Embassy. The theme was “Towards a New Paradigm of Leadership & Good Governance: The Role of the Ambassadors for Peace.” There were 30 participants, including 16 Ambassadors for Peace.
There were three sessions with presentations covering the same contents of UPF's International Leadership Conferences:
- Session 1: A Vision for Peace: One Family under God
- Session 2: Understanding the Root Cause of Conflict & Its Resolutions
- Session 3: UPF Principles of Peace
The presentations were each followed by ten minutes of questions and answers, 30 minutes of group discussion on prepared discussion topics, and reporting from each group.
At the end of the conference everyone was asked to write reflections. A couple of the comments by first-time participants encapsulate the spirit and essence of the conference:
- “…A huge learning experience; we gained new true knowledge which is going to help prepare us for true leadership.…”
- “…It was organized very well, and I feel personal pride to be part of these friendly people.”
