Paris, France - The Pakxe Project: A Contribution of Laos to the Unity of South‐East Asia and World Peace by Laurent Ladouce is now available from Editions Romains and through amazon.com.
The book is a treatise on the meaning of a culture of peace for the world, for South‐East Asia, and for Laos. It suggests that Pakxe should be an international city of peace. The term “international city of peace” is a paradigm which may apply in other contexts.
Pakxe is a city of 70,000 people in southern Laos, situated at the confluence of the Xedone and Mekong Rivers. It was also the former capital of the Lao Kingdom of Champasak.
The book is published in French under the title Le Projet Pakxe: une contribution du Laos à l’unité de l’Asie du Sud‐Est et à la Paix Mondiale. See the video in French on www.dailymotion.com/video/xixa2j_mrladouce‐le‐projet‐pakxe_webcam
