Vancouver, Canada - UPF-Western Canada hosted Ambassador for Peace Sohail Kiane, who spoke from his in-depth knowledge of the geo-political realities of the Asia Pacific region. Sohail is a Canadian – Pakistani who has spent over 25 years in Canada, USA, Singapore, Switzerland, and the Arabian Gulf. He is currently an investment banker and is involved in several charitable and interfaith initiatives. Participants in the November 7 forum enjoyed the open exchange with Sohail after the formal presentation.
On November 28, UPF was invited to the World Peace Dinner hosted by the Inter-Faith World Peace Society based in Richmond, British Columbia. Alan Wilding was invited to give a presentation about UPF’s goals and objectives to the largely Chinese audience.
During the Muslim month of Ramadan, Alan Wilding was invited to address those who came to the mosque in North Vancouver on August 20 prior to breaking their fast and enjoying the evening meal. He read some words of Rev. Sun Myung Moon about the importance of sacrifice. The message was very well received, especially when the audience learned that the speaker had fasted for a day in solidarity with my Muslim brothers and sisters.
