Regional UPF Chair Visits Latvia to Promote Baltic Dialogue

Riga, Latvia - Mr. Eiji Tokuno, Regional Chair of UPF-Eurasia, visited Riga on December 19 and met with UPF leaders and Ambassadors for Peace at the Latvia Peace Embassy. Delegations from the neighboring nations of Lithuania and Estonia traveled several hours in order to participate in the regional meeting.

After everybody introduced themselves, reports were given about UPF activities in the three Baltic countries. Mr. Tokuno gave a briefing about developments throughout Eurasia. He then talked about recent activities of the UPF Founders, Dr. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon, and their son Hyung Jin Moon, the international chairman of UPF. He challenged everyone present to work together to build an Ambassadors for Peace foundation in the Baltic nations and explored the potential for visit by Dr. and Mrs. Moon.

This was the first such meeting of Ambassadors for Peace from the Baltic nations. The atmosphere was bright, and people returned home with confidence that they could work together effectively.
