Konstantin Krylov, head of UPF-Russia, talked about the origin of the Ambassadors for Peace movement, its meaning and values. In short, Ambassadors for Peace seek to reconcile the divided people of the earth and live for the benefit of others beyond racial, national, and religious boundaries.
It was also emphasized that education in ethical norms, harmonious interpersonal relations, and professional skills should be the base of the human character.
Handing “Ambassador for Peace” certificates to three participants marked the climax of the event; among the recipients were: Professor at the Far-East University, Filipenko Galina Vladimirovna, for her impact on the moral education of young people; the public figure Kuzmin Vladimir Nikolayevich for promoting the cultural development of young people; and ex-deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Maritime Territory, Medvedeva Galina Mikhailovna, for her public service over many years.
On the following day, we had two personal meetings; the first was with Anatoly Viktorovich Lebedev, honored ecologist and head of the organization “BROK” (Office of the Regional Grassroots Companies), regarding the UPF project of a proposed tunnel/bridge across the Bering Strait.
