Novosibirsk, Russia - In preparation for the International Day of Peace on September 21, an August 21 forum in Novosibirsk attracted  public figures, scientists, and youth activists. Dmitry Oficerov shared with the audience news about recent UPF projects. This was followed by a general discussion on “Sustainable world peace for creating a sustainable future.”

The participants examined the issue from the position of protecting the environment for the benefit of the future generations. By 2050 the global human family will be more than 9 billion; therefore, it will be of utmost importance to rise above the general selfishness and desire to privatize natural resources for personal use. Only on this condition will world peace be achievable.

As a result, the participants developed a number of educational activities, among them:

  • Taking photos: “Give me a smile”
  • Sending postcards with messages of peace to committees of the local administration
  • Holding a public forum on “Sustainable peace for sustainable future” on September 18
  • Making videos on the theme of “Wishing peace for the world”
  • Organizing a project on the theme of “Add your resources into the receptacle of the world”

All the above programs are to take place within the period of September 18 – 21.
