Hon. Senator Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, who inaugurated the double-storey embassy situated on an idyllic street in Petaling Jaya, also pledged to support UPF-Malaysia’s application for tax-exemption status
Other speakers included UPF-Malaysia President Tan Sri Dr. Devaki Krishnan, UPF-Asia Regional Chairman Dr. Chung Sik Yong, UPF-Malaysia Secretary General Rev. Sam Yeoh, and UPF-Asia Education Director Dr. Robert Kittel.
The program closed with high tea and appointment of new Ambassadors for Peace.
The idea of a Peace Embassy in every nation of the world was first advanced by Father and Mother Moon. The bigger vision is to promote a national association of conscientious individuals and committed organizations dedicated to the noble cause of building a peaceful world where each individual can fully realize her or his potential in a peaceful way while living together with others in harmony and cooperation, with prosperity for all.
In Malaysia, the Peace Embassy is expected to more directly support the work of the Universal Peace Federation and its affiliated organizations. UPF will focus on four core areas:
- Building strong, healthy families,
- Promoting interfaith harmony and cooperation;
- Building a culture of service, reconciliation, and partnership; and,
- Revitalization of the United Nations.
Earlier in the day, UPF presented a seminar on a Culture of Heart. For details click here.
