Sydney, Australia - An Australian Leadership Conference sponsored by UPF was held at the Oceania Peace Embassy in Sydney on October 6 with the theme, “Towards a New Paradigm of Leadership and Good Governance.”

Some 30 UPF Ambassadors for Peace and guests attended the program that included three insightful presentations on UPF Principles of Peace, the Origins and Resolution of Conflict, and a Vision for Peace: One Family Under God.

Rev Greg Stone, President of UPF-Australia, and Tracy DeGeer, President of the Women's Federation for World Peace-Australia, were the speakers. Following each presentation, there were lively table discussions centered on a set of questions, with the outcomes reported back to all present.

The classic Simon and Garfunkel song, “Bridge over Troubled Water,” performed by Chihiro Midorikawa to entertain the audience after lunch, encapsulated the spirit of peace and good will beyond cultural, religious, and other divisions as advocated through the conference.

Participants responded favorably to this conference and look forward to adopting and sharing the principles espoused within their communities and beyond.
