Seminar Held for Albanian Ambassadors for Peace

Albania-2014-11-13~16-Montenegro Workshop for AfP

Ulcinj, Montenegro - A seminar on the theme “Love God, Love People, Love the Nation” was held for about 40 Albanian Ambassadors for Peace Nov. 13-16, 2014, in the tourist city of Ulcinj, Montenegro, on the coast of the Adriatic Sea, 20 km north of the Albanian border.

Participants included Ambassadors for Peace from the Peace Councils in Tirana, Durrësi, Elbasani, Shkodra, Lezha, Vlora, Fieri, Korça, Kukësi and Prishtina.

Everything in the Albanian-majority population of Ulcinj met the expectations of both the organizers and participants. The hotel was located just above the beach, where one could stare for hours at the beautiful view of the bay and the sea beyond it.

Guests were welcomed with a short speech by Mr. Nail Draga, UPF coordinator for Montenegro and a local inhabitant of Ulcinj. He was followed by Mr. Bajram Ibraj, UPF-Albania chairman, and Rev. Gi Yung Shin, senior advisor. Most of the lectures were given by the head of the Family Federation for World Peace in Albania, Mr. Gani Roshi.

Even though the schedule was quite intense, everyone enjoyed the performance of national and international music by a local musician one evening during dinner. Many of the Ambassadors for Peace enjoyed dancing and singing while others, mostly men, watched a friendly football match between France and Albania (1-1).

A visit to the old town and the castle of Ulcinj was led by Mr. Draga, who is geographer by profession. Fortunately, the weather was excellent.

A delegation called upon Mayor Fatmir Gjokaj, who gladly welcomed the invitation to visit and was presented with an Ambassador for Peace certificate.

After the final presentation, Mr. Hydajte Hyseni, a former MP from Kosovo, read “To Be Free,” a poem he wrote while in Seoul at a UPF conference last year. He invited other poets in the room, such as Mrs. Fatbardha Alimeta and Mr. Myzaljen Hoxha, to recite from their work. The evening was enriched by the remarks of Mr. Ibraj and Mr. Ali Laçej, a founding member of UPF-Albania.
