Budapest, Hungary - Representatives of UPF were officially invited to the Hungarian Parliament House to meet a major party leader.
With the help of Peter Hetenyi, an Ambassador for Peace, UPF-Hungary Vice President Imre Nagy and Secretary General Peter Meszaros on Dec. 10, 2014, met with the leader of one of the nation’s major political parties and a member of his staff in the press room.
In the meeting Mr. Nagy spoke about UPF founder Dr. Sun Myung Moon and the UPF Principles of Peace. Then the discussion shifted to the Middle East Peace Initiative (MEPI), World Summit 2015, and UPF activities in the neighboring country of the Czech Republic.
Mr. Nagy outlined Dr. Moon's idea of supporting parliamentarians who could become members of the Council for Peace and Ambassadors for Peace.
The party officials listened with interest and asked for suggestions as to ways in which UPF and their party could work together. They took UPF printed materials, which they promised to pass on to high-level government officials from their party.
