Kiev, Ukraine—Ukrainian and Korean schoolchildren attended a meeting organized by UPF-Ukraine at a Peace School in Kiev’s “Family House” center.
The meeting, held on April 2, 2015, was attended by 30 pupils, including 11 from Korea. It included a special “Interaction” training program featuring interesting games and tasks.
UPF videotaped an interview with the British actor-turned-filmmaker Jeremy Gilley, the founder of the Peace One Day non-profit organization, and sent the recording directly to him.
The meeting was very exciting for all the participants. The Ukrainian and Korean schoolchildren eagerly made friends, and the atmosphere was so emotional and warm that they were unwilling to go home and kept communicating with each other even after the end of the meeting.
The final day of the Peace School meeting at Kiev School No. 291 was held on April 16. Among the participants were representatives of 14 schools. Seventeen pupils presented their personal projects involving ecology, education and historical research, as well as service projects. The pupils demonstrated their creativity in organizing and carrying out their ideas. The Peace School Commission carefully analyzed and assessed each project and will announce the results later.
