Port Harcourt, Nigeria—A UPF Ambassador for Peace has been sworn in as a permanent secretary in Rivers State.
The Rivers State governor, Chief Barrister Nyesom Wike, swore in six new permanent secretaries in a ceremony on October 9, 2015, at the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital. One of these permanent secretaries was UPF-Ambassador for Peace Ernest Chap Jumbo.
Mr. Jumbo, a committed and hardworking Ambassador for Peace, was accompanied to the event at the Government House by Prince Tonye Jeminimiema, the Rivers State coordinator of the UPF Ambassadors for Peace Executive Council.
On October 10 a brief reception was held at the Police Officers Mess in Mr. Jumbo’s honor by members of the Executive Council of the UPF Ambassadors for Peace.
UPF-Nigeria is honored by this promotion of one of its outstanding members in Rivers State and hopes that he and his colleagues will work harder to strengthen civil governance and help political leaders to be more accountable and responsive to the needs of the people.
