Peacebuilding Education Continues in Northern Italy

Bergamo, Italy—UPF Ambassadors for Peace and contacts of UPF’s affiliated organizations continued their peacebuilding studies in two recent seminars. On the afternoon of Saturday, January 23, 2016, and the morning of Saturday, February 6, the stimulating presentations that had been introduced at a first seminar on Saturday, October 24, 2015, were continued.
All three seminars were held at the Hotel Donizetti in the town of Lallio and were the joint effort of UPF with Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) and Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU).
The purpose of the seminars was to convey the deeper spiritual understanding that underpins the vision and peace initiatives of the three federations.
Following an introduction that reviewed the topics discussed at the October seminar, new topics were presented: the theme of good and evil in the individual and in the history of conflict and a possible resolution on the basis of freedom and human responsibility; a presentation of the life and works of UPF founders Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and his wife, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon; the meaning and value of the Interfaith Marriage Blessing at this special time.
The meetings confirmed the keen interest of those present, who participated in the discussions with a number of questions on the various topics covered. The active participation of the guests gave significant evidence of their appreciation and understanding about the providential value of our time.
