Moscow, Russia—A competition that judges university students on their internal qualities had its finale in Moscow on April 23.
The 2016 Mister and Miss University pageant, an international competition sponsored by the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP), an organization that is affiliated with UPF, does not primarily seek physical beauty. The judges of the “internal beauty pageant” look for students who, through their personal example, inspire their friends, acquaintances and other young people to want to do volunteering and peacemaking activities.
The areas of competition were very diverse. In addition, the contestants attended tours and concerts, conferences and celebrations, relief and peacemaking activities. The participants visited the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, the Vysokopetrovsky Monastery of the Russian Orthodox Church, and the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.
At the roundtable, the participants addressed issues of concern to the public and the entire world. They discussed interreligious issues as well as methods for creating strong families. The members of the team performed in the "World of Families" competition and took part in a UPF conference, entertained seniors at a social care center, organized birthday parties for orphans, and took part in forums as volunteers.
Finally the results of the competition were announced: Nikita Klimov of the Russian New University) and Ksenia Tuzhik of Moscow State Pedagogical University became the new Mister and Miss University!
