United States-2016-04-23-Peace Activist Speaks at Community of Faith Breakfast

San Leandro, United States—“The Importance of Keeping an Open Mind” was the topic at a monthly Community of Faith breakfast in the San Francisco area.

Jeff Scharfen, a distinguished English teacher as well as a peace activist, was the guest speaker at the April 23, 2016, event held by UPF Northern California in the Bay Area Family Church, a facility of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), an affiliated organization, in the city of San Leandro.

Mr. Scharfen, who is the chair of the English Department at Cardinal Newman High School in the city of Santa Rosa, quoted from UPF Founder Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Jesus in his talk, as well as William Shakespeare and the poets W.B. Yeats and Dante.

He gave a very heartfelt message about the need to bring hope, forgiveness and redemption to all people.

At the conclusion of his speech, Mr. Scharfen was appointed an Ambassador for Peace.
