Parliamentarians Association Welcomed in D.R. Congo

Kinshasa, D.R. Congo—More than 150 people attended a ceremony to launch the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP).
The IAPP inauguration took place in the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of the Congo on January 21, 2017.
Rev. Jean Pierre Kadima, the secretary general of UPF of D.R. Congo, read the Founders’ Address. Rev. Michel Futila, the deputy secretary general of UPF for Central Africa, gave a report on the UPF West African regional summit held in Burkina Faso on August 10, 2016.
The National Assembly president was represented by the speaker of the Parliament, who gave a congratulatory message.
Several channels broadcast the event. Following the close of the inaugural ceremony, the participants moved to the National Assembly’s banquet hall, where they were offered refreshments.
