Kathmandu, Nepal—Former Vice President of Nepal Hon. Parmanand Jha and Nepalese dignitaries were honored at a program celebrating the UPF founders’ legacy of peace, held on March 21, 2017 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
At the World Summit 2017, which took place in Seoul, Korea from February 1 to 5, UPF conferred its prestigious Leadership and Good Governance Award to Hon. Jha. Hon. Jha, who received a medal from UPF co-founder Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, at the Summit, was given a certificate from representatives of UPF International’s office at this special program organized by UPF-Nepal. In addition, Ambassador for Peace awards were presented to eight Nepalese dignitaries.
The program also included a presentation on the UPF founder’s legacy of peace, which was given by Dr. Robert Kittel, education director of UPF-Asia.
UPF-Asia chair, Dr. Chung Sik Yong, gave a speech on UPF’s contributions to world peace and good governance.
Hon. Ek Nath Dhakal, president of UPF-Nepal, gave the welcoming remarks, and Rev. Santosh Paudel, vice chair of UPF-Nepal, was the master of ceremonies.
