Petrovac, Montenegro—Thirty-one Ambassadors for Peace and other VIPs from Albania and Kosovo attended a four-day seminar on the UPF Principles of Peace.
The seminar was held from April 27 to 30, 2017, at the Palace Hotel in the small, beautiful town of Petrovac on the Adriatic Sea. It was organized jointly by the Albanian and Kosovan chapters of UPF and Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), an affiliated organization.
This was the second such seminar held for Ambassadors for Peace. The first was held in November 2016 in the Montenegrin coastal town of Tivat.
Twenty-eight of the participants came from Albania, and three came from Kosovo.
Hon. Sead Sahman, a member of Parliament of Montenegro who attended the UPF World Summit in Korea in February, welcomed the participants to the seminar.
In addition to the presentations on the UPF Principles of Peace, there was a special lecture titled “Love God, Love Humankind, Love Nation”—which was also the theme of the seminar.
Most of the participants attended the seminar as couples, as one of the seminar’s goals was to prepare them for the Interfaith Peace Blessing. All of them were very moved by the lectures, agreeing on the need for such contents to be included in national educational curricula. As a result, most of them determined to attend the Interfaith Peace Blessing in Tirana, the capital of Albania, on May 14, with a few couples thinking of attending the Blessing ceremony in Korea in September.
Hon. Sahman was awarded a certificate of Ambassador for Peace. At the end of the seminar, the Ambassador for Peace certificate was given to six additional participants, all of whom are the husbands or wives of current Ambassadors for Peace. A wonderful atmosphere was created as each of the partners explained why his or her spouse deserved this title.
