'Peace Road' Reaches Highest City in the World

El Alto, Bolivia—The 2017 Peace Road event in Bolivia, an 18-mile (30 km) bike tour and walk, took place in El Alto, the highest major city in the world—with an elevation of more than 13,000 feet (4,000 meters) above sea level—on August 18, 2017. More than 120 cyclists and 300 people, which included representatives from the office of the mayor of El Alto, participated.
The program concluded in the atrium of the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (Higher University of San Andrés), where the Peace Road flag was passed on to a delegation from Peru, the next country to host the tour.
