'Peace Road' Comes to Nicaragua

Nicaragua-2017-08-27-“Peace Road” 2017 Tour Comes to Nicaragua

Managua, Nicaragua—For the 2017 Peace Road, the Nicaragua chapters of UPF and the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP), in collaboration with the Cyclist Federation of Nicaragua, organized a bicycle tour.

The event took place on August 27, 2017 in the city of Managua and began at the Dennis Martinez National Stadium and ended at Las Piedrecitas.

Seventy-three cyclists rode the tour, while another 47 people, walked it, with some holding flags, banners and wearing Peace Road t-shirts.

Before the tour started, UPF-Nicaragua President Hon. Agustin Jarquin Anaya spoke about the history and significance of the Peace Road, which was followed by a prayer for the participants, offered by IAPP-Nicaragua President Hon. Rev. Guillermo Osorno.

Mr. Abraham Osorno Larios, general manager of the television channel Enlace Nicaragua (channel 21)—part of the international Enlace Trinity Broadcasting Network—and a camera crew covered the event.
