Sunhak Laureate Named to BBC Women’s List

New York, United States—Universal Peace Federation is honored to announce that Dr. Sakena Yacoobi, the Sunhak Peace Prize laureate of 2017, has the distinction of being on the BBC’s list of 100 inspirational and innovative women for 2017.
Dr. Yacoobi’s innovative approach to education and community development has inspired hundreds of Afghan communities to join with her and the Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL) to empower women and children and to work for peace.
We give tribute to Dr. Yacoobi’s lifelong work, which has had an invaluable impact in Afghanistan and which has been brought to the attention of the world community.
