Vilnius, Lithuania—A small but spirited group of adults and children bicycled 10 kilometers through Lithuania’s capital for the 2017 Peace Road event.
Members of the Lithuanian chapters of UPF and affiliated organizations, together with guests, followed a 10-kilometer (approximately 6.2-mile) route passing historic places in Vilnius’ Old Town and the city center.
The starting point of the August 26 event was Vilnius’ historic Town Hall Square, where all the support team came for a successful kickoff. The route continued past Vilnius’ main Cathedral Square, the Seimas (national parliament), and Vingis Park (the city’s main park), before concluding on Tauras Hill with a panoramic view of the city.
This action was very inspiring for the participants, who had invested a lot of sincerity in preparation. They demonstrated a strong will and determination, as some had to cycle an additional 20 kilometers from their home (and back) to join this event!
The event strengthened unity and brought a brighter vision to the participants as well as attracting some interest from the public.
