Zagreb, Croatia—Croatia has become part of the international Peace Road initiative with the occurrence of the first Peace March.
The event began at 3 p.m. on October 21, 2017, as twenty-seven volunteers of UPF and Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), an affiliated organization, gathered in the city park.
A short speech by Peace Road coordinator Dejan Perhat was followed by brief singing and the taking of a group photo.
We continued to another beautiful park, where we prayed together for peace and unity.
From there we went to the city center, where we stopped first by the Orthodox Church and then by the main cathedral of the Catholic Church, praying and singing a song for unity in front of each.
During the prayer at the Orthodox Church, one participant had a vision of three Orthodox priests giving us a blessing from the spiritual world.
Another noteworthy event happened in front of the Catholic cathedral. As we were singing the Korean song Tongil (“Unity”), a group of Korean tourists happened to be walking by, and we invited them to join us in singing this well-known Korean song.
The Koreans were amazed to see non-Koreans singing a Korean song so far away from their homeland, but then they joined us in singing.
As they sang Tongil with a lot of emotion and love, it was clear to us how much Koreans love their country.
The first Croatian Peace Road event ended with refreshments and friendly discussion.
