Italy-2018-01-27-Lawyer Presents First Novel at Bergamo Meeting

Bergamo, Italy—Over 70 people attended a lawyer and writer’s presentation of his first novel, which deals with topical social issues.

Dr. Alessandro Bozzi was the main speaker at the meeting at the Donizetti Hotel on January 27, 2018, to present his book, La libertà danza tra gli ulivi (“Freedom Dance among the Olive Trees”).

The meeting was organized jointly by the Bergamo branches of UPF and two affiliated organizations: Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) and Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP).

Franco Ravaglioli, secretary general of UPF-Italy, introduced Dr. Bozzi simply, saying that he first met him virtually on Facebook and then met him in person on this occasion.

Andrea Carta, a psychologist and psychotherapist, masterfully conducted an interview with the author, who explained the motivations that led him to literary writing.

The plot of the novel leads the reader to reflect on topical issues, such as violence toward women and the much-discussed punitive and almost never re-educational prison system. The mention of these topics led to a discussion in which members of the audience offered their views. Dr. Bozzi said he also wanted in this book to focus on the role of advocacy, often misinterpreted, but very difficult for those who do it with competence and professional ethics.

After finishing his talk, the writer performed with the dancer Monica Ballabio a frenetic pizzica, a typical dance from the Salento region that conveys joy and a sense of freedom.
