The approval of registration letter dated September 17, 2018, is in response to the application and proposal to the ministry on August 13, 2018, by the UPF-Nigeria secretary general.

According to the letter signed on behalf of the Honorable Minister of Education by Dr Chioma C. J. Nwadei, director of Educational Planning, Research and Development in the Federal Ministry of Education headquarters, “Having satisfied the Ministry’s requirements for registration of an NGO, Universal Peace Federation is now registered with registration number FME/NGO/RN.18/002 and is therefore recognized as a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) intervening and collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Education in the education sector. By this registration, UPF-Nigeria will be working with the Federal Ministry of Education throughout Nigeria to create a new culture of education for peace, raise a community of educators, strengthen and renew the existing education structure, and as educate for the effective development and utilization of educational infrastructure.

In addition, UPF-Nigeria intends to introduce programs of education in the areas of interfaith relations, strengthening marriages and families, peace education, family education, prenatal education, character education and skills acquisition programs, among others. We are hopeful that UPF-Nigeria will inspire the establishment of an interreligious education center as well as a school for the preparation of young people for marriage and other programs and services that will lead to the realization of a peaceful Nigeria nation.

UPF-Nigeria will be collaborating with the Ministry of Education in training and retraining of teachers and educating National Youth Service Corps members on the need for national peace and unification as well as service education and sustainable development education.
