UPF-Italy Sponsors Peace Education Seminar

Monza, Italy—UPF-Italy held a one-day seminar in collaboration with the Italian chapter of the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) on November 24 at the Urban Center Track 7. A selected group of Ambassadors for Peace and contacts who had already participated in previous public events or meetings were invited to this event, bringing the total of participants to 30.
The aim of the meeting, themed “We Walk Together Toward Global Harmony,” was to present an in-depth analysis of the vision of peace promoted by UPF and WFWP. This was explained, over the course of the three sessions, based on the following themes:
- Educational proposals for future world citizens;
- Promotion, support and protection of the family as the founding cell of society;
- Good governance and social cohesion.
The first session was presented by Giorgio Gasperoni, editorial director of Voci di Pace, quarterly magazine of UPF and WFWP. The second session was conducted by Elisabetta Nistri Calì, president of WFWP-Italy, and the third session by Carlo Zonato, president of UPF-Italy.
After each session, enough time was left for a question and answer session and remarks by the participants. The participants enriched the given presentations with their experiences and reflections in the context of their activities and professions. Many questions and clarifications allowed the speakers to further explore the issues introduced during the lectures. The result was a very intense and constructive day. We will certainly propose having such events again in future as part of UPF and WFWP programs.
