St. Petersburg, Russia—A meeting titled “Green Angels of St. Petersburg” brought together participants who are passionate about protecting the environment.
The St. Petersburg chapter of UPF held the meeting together with the City Resource Center for Continuing Education titled "Environmental Education as the Most Important Mechanism for Socializing Children and Youth."
The meeting took place on December 14, 2018, at the Environment youth center.
Among the 25 participants were leaders and volunteers of environmental movements, high school teachers and students, scientists and practitioners, as well as the co-chair of the Guild of Environmental Journalists of St. Petersburg, Tatyana P. Atemova.
The participants also included Ekaterina Blokova, a specialist at the Bellona Environmental Law Center; and Lev M. Semashko Ph.D., a philosopher and the honorary president of the Global Union of Harmony.
Participants spoke of their experiences in environmental education. At the end of the meeting, they also made New Year’s cards and eco-bags with their own hands.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. All the participants expressed a desire to unite their efforts in order to protect the environment and promote the idea of living for the sake of others, living with care for our environment.
