Lisbon, Portugal—UPF took part in a meeting of Portuguese citizens who are descended from Africans.
The meeting on March 16, 2019, was held by two associations to discuss how African ancestry contributes to Portugal, their nation of birth and residence.
The 18 participants included two university professors, one model and businesswoman, two doctoral students who are doing research in this area, and several leaders of associations, some of whom are activists in Portuguese political parties.
UPF proposed character education as an important contribution to empowering young Portuguese of all colors.
At the end Sérgio Vieira, the president of UPF-Portugal, led the participants in a toast.
