Kyiv, Ukraine—Traditional dances, songs and clothes of both Ukraine and Islamic countries were presented at an event held at a university.
The event, dedicated to the Islamic day of peace, took place on April 9, 2019, at the Open International University of Human Development "Ukraine."
It was attended by about 100 participants, in particular, the Arab students of the university, leaders of Muslim organizations in Ukraine, and foreign volunteers from the Universal Peace Federation.
The main speakers of the event were: P.M. Talanchuk, the rector of the university; Sheikh Emad Abu Alrub, the president of the Ukrainian Dialogue and Communication Center; and Said Ismagilov, mufti of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Umma.”
This event was very important, as it spread the ideas of peace, friendship and interaction between the countries of the Arab world and Western countries, despite the differences in culture, language and religion.
