Kathmandu, Nepal—The Peace Road 2019 event in Nepal was a rally and peace walk, which took place on April 9 in Kathmandu. In spite of the rainy weather that day, more than 200 people including current and former members of Parliament; Ambassadors for Peace, of whom 12 were from Moscow, Russia; a religious leader; and youth leaders participated in the activities.
UPF-Nepal vice chair, Mr. Santosh Kumar Paudel, gave brief remarks on the vision and goal of the Peace Road project. Current member of the National Assembly, the upper house of the Federal Parliament of Nepal, Hon. Ram Narayan Bidari, was the chief guest of the program, and said he hopes “this Peace Road rally can bring peace in the world.” He added that “conflict and fighting cannot achieve anything. But, through peace, we can do many things, such as uniting the races, nationalities and religions.
Former member of Parliament, Hon. Milan Kumari Rajbanshi, was the coordinator of the Peace Road 2019 program in Nepal.
