Kathmandu, Nepal—UPF-Nepal held a conference on "Perspectives on Happy Family and Prosperous Nation" at the Peace Embassy building in Kathmandu, the country’s capital, on May 2, 2019.
Among the speakers were chief guest, Hon. Teju Lal Chaudhary, a member of Parliament and former state minister of youth and sports. He said that a country would not be able to be a country without the family. The special guest, Hon. Ram Bir Manandhar, a member of the Federal Parliament of Nepal, and Hon. Milan Rajbanshi, a member of the Constituent Assembly, also gave remarks.
UPF-Asia-Pacific secretary general, Mrs. Ursula McLackland, spoke of the importance of happiness and peace in the family in building a prosperous nation.
UPF-Nepal vice chair, Mr. Santosh Kumar Paudel, spoke about family values. Although one needs material resources, one should not forget love and respecting others. Mr. Paudel also said that Nepal, known as the country of Buddha, Sagarmatha and Sita, was once known as a country where three generations of family lived together.
UPF-Nepal secretary general, Mr. Binod Dangi, said that Nepal could become a prosperous nation while giving priority to family education and moral values. He mentioned the need to uphold family values in the nation while it develops economically.
Also during the seminar, UPF-Nepal appointed six new Ambassadors for Peace.
