Bergen aan Zee, Netherlands—The third seminar on the UPF Vision and Peace Principles drew 40 participants from 10 nations.
The seminar was held from September 6 to 8, 2019, at Glory House, a beautiful estate located on the shores of the North Sea. The program featured an introduction to the life and philosophy of UPF founders Father and Mother Moon and to the recent developments of UPF activities throughout the world.
Participants came from Belgium, Bulgaria, Egypt, Germany, Hungary, Kosovo, Lebanon, Moldova, the United Kingdom and Netherlands and represented different faiths and cultures.
After introducing the founders’ life and vision, the presenters gave an overview of the principles of peace and human development guiding UPF activities, underscoring how they resonate with the teachings of traditional world religions. A lecture on the “Cause and Resolution of Conflict” was followed by an overview of the “Principles of Restoration” and their application by great peacemakers throughout history.
The presentation of Father Moon’s philosophy concluded with an exposition of his vision of a culture of heart based on interdependence, mutual prosperity and universal values, a theme currently featured in major UPF conferences with world leaders.
The seminar concluded with a presentation on UPF peace initiatives, their background and current developments. Participants had the opportunity to interact with presenters, ask questions and offer reflections. The comment “Some of these lectures should be given in parliaments!” was heard.
Participants enjoyed a great evening of music and songs, and they could experience the beautiful environment. The success of the seminars is prompting UPF to organize them on a regular basis.
